We Do TPO Roofs in KC. That's Pretty Much It.

Look, we're not a jack-of-all-trades roofing company. We picked one thing and got really good at it. If you've got a flat commercial roof anywhere from the River Market down to Grandview, we're probably the guys you want up there. We've been welding TPO membranes in this town since before half these new breweries in the Crossroads even opened.

Here's What We Actually Do

No fluff. We're a TPO shop β€” every single person on our crew does this every single day. Here's the rundown.

πŸ—οΈ

Brand New TPO Roof

Putting up a new building? Or maybe you've finally had it with that old tar-and-gravel situation up there. Either way, we'll set you up with a proper TPO system β€” right insulation, right membrane thickness, right attachment method. We did a new 30,000 sq ft install on a warehouse off Front Street last spring. Took us 8 days. Owner said his AC bill dropped like 20% that first summer.

πŸ”§

Fixing What's Broken

Seam popped open? Got a puncture where someone dropped a tool? Maybe there's a wet spot on your ceiling tile and you're not sure where it's coming from. We'll come up, find it, and fix it. Most TPO repairs are honestly pretty straightforward if you know what you're looking at. We've patched roofs from Ward Parkway to Gladstone β€” usually same week.

πŸ”„

Full Roof Tear-Off & Redo

Sometimes there's no saving the old one. That's okay β€” we'll strip it down to the deck, check the structure, and build you a new one from scratch. Did a full replacement last fall on a strip mall over on 87th & Metcalf. The old EPDM was 22 years old and held together with prayers and caulk. New TPO went on in 5 days.

πŸ”

Checkups & Maintenance

This is the boring stuff nobody wants to think about β€” but it saves you a ton of money. We'll come out once or twice a year, walk the roof, check the seams, clear the drains, look around the HVAC curbs. It takes maybe an hour and it means you're not calling us in a panic at 2am because something gave out.

🌧️

It's Leaking Right Now

Yeah, this happens. Especially after one of those spring storms that rolls through and dumps golf-ball hail on half the city. If you've got water coming in, just call us. We carry patch material in the trucks. We can usually get a temp fix on it the same day and then come back for the real repair when the weather clears. We're not gonna make you wait while your stock gets rained on.

πŸ“‹

Insurance? We've Done This Before

After that big hailstorm in June 2024 we had about 40 insurance claims going at the same time. We know the process inside out. We'll take photos, write up the scope, meet your adjuster on the roof, and make sure they're not lowballing you. Half the time the adjuster hasn't even been on a flat roof before. We walk them through it.

So Why TPO? (We Get This One a Lot)

People always ask why we only do TPO. Fair question. Short version: it's the best flat roof material out there for Kansas City. Here's why.

01

KC Weather Is Brutal. TPO Doesn't Care.

You know the deal β€” it's 105Β° in July, there's ice on everything in January, and in March the wind tries to rip your roof off. We've watched EPDM seams peel apart in wind storms. TPO seams are heat-welded β€” they're literally fused together. They're actually stronger than the membrane. That's not marketing talk, that's just how thermoplastic works. We've seen TPO roofs go through straight-line winds that peeled the siding off the building and the roof was fine.

02

Your Electric Bill Will Actually Go Down

Not in a "save the planet" brochure kind of way β€” in a real, check-your-Evergy-bill kind of way. That white membrane reflects sunlight instead of soaking it up. We had a restaurant owner in Westport tell us his cooling bill dropped almost $400 a month the first summer after we put his TPO on. On a big warehouse, the savings are even crazier. One of our clients on the Missouri side near Riverside did the math and the roof basically paid for itself in energy savings over 12 years.

03

It Lasts 25+ Years (If You Don't Ignore It)

No flat roof lasts forever. But a well-installed TPO system with basic maintenance will go 25–30 years easy. Compare that to modified bitumen which starts cracking after 12–15 years, or built-up roofing that turns into a mess of tar and gravel. The key word there is "well-installed" though. That's why you want guys who do TPO every day, not someone who learned it from a YouTube video last weekend.

04

It's Recyclable (If You Care About That Kind of Thing)

Not gonna preach at you, but β€” when a TPO roof reaches end of life, the membrane gets recycled into new roofing material. It doesn't end up in a landfill like asphalt shingles. We had a property manager in Prairie Village who specifically wanted TPO for the environmental angle. That's cool too. It's a nice bonus on top of it just being a better roof.

We're Just a KC Crew
That's Good at One Thing

Our office is on Walnut Street downtown. You can literally come knock on the door if you feel like it. When you call (866) 652-8012, you're talking to someone who was probably on a roof in Raytown or Blue Springs this morning. Not some call center in Florida.

Real talk β€” we started this company because we got tired of watching general contractors mess up TPO installs. They'd have a crew that does shingle houses all week and then send those same guys to weld a commercial membrane on Saturday. That's how you get callbacks and leaks. TPO takes a specific skill set, specific tools, and a crew that knows the material cold. That's all we do, so yeah, we're pretty good at it by now.

Are we the cheapest bid you'll get? Probably not. But ask around β€” ask the property managers at Copaken Brooks or Block Real Estate. Ask the building owners in the Crossroads. They'll tell you we show up, we do the work, and we don't ghost you when something comes up two years later.

"Nobody thinks about their roof until it leaks. Our job is to make sure it doesn't."

Stuff People Ask Us

These are real questions we get on almost every job. Figured we'd just put our answers out here.

"Alright, what's this gonna cost me?"

Straight up β€” somewhere between $5 and $8 a square foot installed, depending on what we're working with. If your old roof needs a full tear-off and the decking's wet, that costs more than a simple overlay. We'll come look at it and give you a real number. We've never hit someone with surprise costs. What we quote is what you pay.

"How long's my business gonna be disrupted?"

Most jobs take 3–7 days. We did a 20,000 sq ft redo on a warehouse near the Stadiums district in under a week. Your business stays open the whole time β€” we're on the roof, you're inside doing your thing. Only weird part is the hot-air welders are kinda loud, so if you're running a yoga studio or something, morning classes might be... interesting.

"My buddy says EPDM is fine. Is he wrong?"

Not wrong, but not the full picture. EPDM's cheaper upfront, sure. But the seams are glued, not welded β€” and that adhesive dries out over time, especially in KC heat. TPO seams are heat-fused. Way stronger, way more watertight. If your buddy's EPDM roof is 12+ years old, ask him how those seams are holding up. We've re-done a lot of "fine" EPDM roofs.

"Are you guys around if something goes wrong later?"

We're on Walnut Street. We're not going anywhere. We've been here 15 years, we own the equipment, we're not a franchise. If something happens with your roof β€” even 5 years from now β€” you call the same number and you get us. Not an answering service. Not a "we'll have someone call you back in 3–5 business days."

"What about the warranty?"

You get two things: our workmanship warranty (we stand behind our work, period) and the manufacturer's material warranty β€” usually 15 to 30 years depending on which system you go with. Because we're an authorized installer, your warranty is legit. Some fly-by-night crews install TPO but aren't certified β€” their warranty paper isn't worth much.

"Can you handle a big building or just small stuff?"

We've done everything from a 2,000 sq ft coffee shop in Waldo to a 55,000 sq ft distribution center up by the airport. Size doesn't scare us. We've got the crew for it β€” usually 6-8 guys on a big job. Last year we had three large commercial projects going at the same time across the metro. We didn't miss a deadline on any of 'em.

Got a Roof Problem? Or Just Want a Quote?

Drop us a message or give us a call. We answer the phone β€” like, an actual person answers. We'll come take a look at your building, tell you what we think, and give you a price. If you decide to go with someone else, no hard feelings. We don't do the pressured sales thing. That's annoying and we're not about it.
